Author Guidelines

Manuscript Submission Guidelines

All manuscripts must be submitted through the online Machines and Algorithms (MnA) Journal Management System. Manuscripts submitted for publication must be prepared in accordance with the guidelines outlined below.

These guidelines are intended to assist authors in preparing high-quality manuscripts and to prevent avoidable delays during the peer review and production processes. Authors are strongly encouraged to read these instructions carefully before submitting their work.

Language and Article Types

MnA publishes original research articles, review articles, and other scholarly contributions. All manuscripts must be written in English and presented in a clear, concise, and scholarly style. Submitted manuscripts may undergo language and grammatical checks, and editorial revisions may be made where necessary.

1. Cover Letter

Each submitted manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter. The cover letter must clearly state that:

  • The manuscript is an original work and has not been previously published, in whole or in part.

  • The manuscript is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • All authors have read and approved the final version of the manuscript.

  • All authors accept full responsibility for the content of the submission.

Any ethical considerations, copyright issues, funding disclosures, or conflicts of interest must be clearly declared in the cover letter. Authors must explicitly state whether any conflicts of interest exist or confirm that none apply.

2. Manuscript Template

Authors are required to strictly use the official MnA template. Submissions that do not conform to the required format may be returned to authors prior to peer review.

3. Submission and Peer Review Workflow (COPE-Compliant)

The Machines and Algorithms (MnA) journal manages all submissions through an online manuscript system to ensure efficiency, transparency, and a smooth editorial workflow. Each manuscript undergoes a structured evaluation process designed to maintain scholarly integrity and publication quality.

Submission Workflow Summary

  5. Reviewer Selection
Qualified reviewers are appointed in accordance with ethical standards and conflict-of-interest policies.

  6. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts under a double-blind review process.

  7. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer reports, the Editor makes a recommendation (accept, revise, or reject), which is confirmed by the EIC.

  8. Revision and Resubmission
Authors submit revised manuscripts along with a detailed response-to-reviewers document.

  9. Final Acceptance
Once all scientific, editorial, and ethical requirements are satisfied, final acceptance is granted by the EIC.

  10. Production

The final version is published online and preserved in MnA’s long-term archiving systems.

MnA is committed to maintaining confidentiality, fairness, transparency, and ethical integrity throughout every stage of the publication process.
